There was no standard flag used to represent the Deseret Territory colonized by the Mormon pioneers in the mid 1800s. Some were similar to the Utah flag. This version includes: a beehive which is symbolic of work and industry, a cannon for defense, thirteen stars/stripes and an eagle. There were others such as the Deseret Blue variation with blue/white or red/white/blue horizontal stripes, sometimes with stars of white in the canton.
