As a result of military service in the Pequot War (1636-38) and King Philip's War (1675-78), Captain George Denison received numerous tracts of land. Some believe this flag may have been flown when Captain Denison was the leader of the local militia unit during the King Philip's War. Today it flies at the Denison Homestead Museum in Mystic, Connecticut.
